What this site is

A free, independent wildlife field guide and trip-planning aid for Borneo. It is information only. We do not sell tours, take bookings or payments, or act as a travel agent.

Accuracy of information

We work hard to be accurate, but species identification, distribution, seasonality, status, access and other details can be wrong or go out of date. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Check current conditions, permits and prices with the operator or the managing authority (for example Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Forestry Department or Sarawak Forestry Corporation) before you travel.

Tour operators and listings

The site lists and links to independent tour operators, guides and accommodation. A listing is not a guarantee, certification or endorsement of quality, safety, licensing or price. We are not a party to any arrangement between you and an operator, and we are not responsible for their services, advice, cancellations or conduct. Please check that any operator you use holds the licences required under Malaysian law. Where you send an enquiry through our form, we pass it on as described in our Privacy Policy.

Wildlife and safety

Wild animals, remote terrain, heat, water, leeches and venomous species carry real risk. Use a licensed local guide where one is required, follow park and ranger rules, keep your distance from wildlife, and do not feed, handle or disturb animals. You are responsible for your own safety, health, insurance and compliance with local laws and permits. Please also keep sensitive locations (for example nest sites of rare birds) to yourself rather than posting exact coordinates.

Photos and content

Photos, text, maps and data on this site belong to us or to the credited photographers, and are used under the licence or permission shown with each photo (tap the i on a photo for credit and licence). You may view and share pages and link to us. You may not copy, scrape, resell or republish our photos or content in bulk or commercially without written permission. Where a photo carries an open licence (such as Creative Commons), that licence applies to the photo itself, with the credit the licence requires.

Photos you send us: if you submit a photo you confirm you took it (or have the right to share it) and that we may use it, credited to you, on this website, the app and related projects, as described when you submit it. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site: no automated scraping or overloading, no attempts to break or probe its security, no spam or false enquiries through the enquiry form, and no use for anything unlawful.

Third-party links and services

We link to other websites and use some third-party services (maps, fonts, email delivery). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Liability

The site and app are provided "as is" and free of charge. To the fullest extent the law allows, Neofelis Digital is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, app or any operator or third party listed on it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Malaysian consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

Changes

We may update these terms and the site at any time. The "last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
