Trus Madi Bird Hide

Bird hide

Two habituated feeding hides just below the Kupu-Kupu Gate on the Tambunan side of Trus Madi Forest Reserve, at around 1,300m. They're the only realistic way to see the famously shy Bulwer's pheasant, which visits several times a day, along with crested, red-breasted and crimson-headed partridge and a few very tame Bornean banded pittas. Entry is capped at 12 people a day and booked through the reserve.

Best for: Bulwer's Pheasant, Crested/Red-breasted/Crimson-headed Partridge, tame Bornean Banded Pittas
Birds: Bulwer's Pheasant, Crested Partridge, Crimson-headed Partridge, Red-breasted Partridge, Whitehead's Trogon
Other: Bornean Banded Pitta
