Wildlife

Also known as Trus Madi Entomology Camp or Borneo Jungle Girl Camp, sitting at around 1,170m inside the Trus Madi Conservation Area — a Class 1 fully protected forest reserve founded in 1986 by Philip Chew and family after they pooled their savings to buy and regenerate the land, with an operating permit granted in 2006. Built specifically around invertebrate macro photography rather than the usual mammal or bird checklist, guided night walks turn up stick insects, katydids, mantises and the mountain's frogs. Accommodation runs to 60 guests across several room types, some en-suite with balconies, with a communal dining area and 24-hour electricity.
