About the Twin-spotted Lanternfly

Named for the pair of pale spots on its wings, this Penthicodes species is one of several closely related, similarly patterned lantern bugs found across the Sunda region, often requiring a close look to tell apart from relatives.

Found resting on tree trunks in lowland and hill forest, relying on cryptic bark-toned colouring and stillness rather than flight to avoid predators, taking off only when directly approached.

Not assessed for conservation status.
