About the Sultan Lanternfly

One of the best-known lantern bugs in Borneo among wildlife photographers, with a boldly patterned wing pattern of yellow, black and white markings that make it among the most striking Fulgoridae on the island.

Recorded from both Sabah and Sarawak, including regularly at popular wildlife sites such as Maliau Basin and Poring, where its size and colour pattern make it one of the more commonly photographed insects on a night walk.

Not assessed for conservation status.
