About the Hering's Lanternfly

One of the longer-recognised Bornean Pyrops species, first documented from Sabah in the early twentieth century, and still most reliably recorded from that state's lowland forest.

Displays the classic lantern-bug silhouette — an elongated, upturned snout and broad, patterned wings — spending most of daylight hours motionless on tree bark.

Not assessed for conservation status.
