About the Gunji's Lanternfly

A member of the Pyrops effusus species group, restricted to East Kalimantan and among the more range-limited lantern bugs on this list, known mainly from the forests around Mount Beratus.

Shares the characteristic upturned snout and boldly patterned wings typical of Pyrops, though with a narrower distribution than its more widely recorded relatives.

Not assessed for conservation status; its narrow known range makes it one of the more data-poor species covered here.
