Penthicodes farinosus
Diet
Plant sap
Habitat
Lowland to hill rainforest, recorded in Sarawak
Range
Borneo (Sarawak), wider Sundaland
Size
Body around 3–4cm
Named for the pale, powdery ('farinose') dusting across its wing surface, giving it a frosted or mealy appearance compared to the more boldly marked lantern bugs it shares forest with.
Documented from Sarawak's lowland forest, where — like other Penthicodes — it spends long periods motionless on tree bark, its subdued colouring blending into lichen-covered trunks.
Not assessed for conservation status.
