About the Four-spotted Lanternfly

Named for the four pale spots patterning its wings, a Malaysian Bornean species recorded from both Sabah and Sarawak, generally encountered singly on tree trunks in undisturbed forest.

As with related Penthicodes species, it is far more often found by scanning tree trunks by torchlight or day than by seeing it in flight — it moves only when direct contact is imminent.

Not assessed for conservation status.
