About the Datua Lanternfly

The sole species in its genus, recorded from Sabah's lowland forest as well as Sumatra, and one of the less frequently photographed lantern bugs covered here — no confirmed photo is yet on file for this page.

Like other Fulgoridae, it spends most of its life motionless on tree bark, feeding on sap through a piercing proboscis and relying on camouflage rather than flight to avoid predators.
