Wildlife
Brunei's largest natural freshwater lake and an ASEAN Heritage Park — a blackwater lake, its tea-dark, tannin-stained water ringed by peat swamp forest that floods and recedes with the seasons. It sees a fraction of the visitors that Ulu Temburong does, which makes it a good option for wetland birding and a quieter, more contemplative alternative to the canopy-walkway crowds — boat trips across the lake are the main way to explore it, drifting past hornbills and waterbirds working the forest edge.
Mostly a day-trip site — basic government-run lakeside chalets reportedly exist but aren't well documented, so it's worth confirming directly before planning an overnight stay.
