About the Rhotana cribraria

Named for the finely pitted, sieve-like ('cribraria') texture of its wing surface, a flatid planthopper in the genus Rhotana known from Sundaland's lowland forest.

Like its relatives it sits with wings folded tent-like over the body on leaves and young stems, feeding on plant sap and taking short hopping flights when disturbed rather than sustained flight. Not assessed for conservation status.
