About the Dermoflata rotundata

A small flatid planthopper in the genus Dermoflata, named for its rounded ('rotundata') wing outline; like other Flatidae it holds its wings roof-like over the body at rest, giving it a compact, leaf-like silhouette.

Found on understorey foliage and shrub stems, where it feeds on sap and can occur in loose clusters on a single plant; flatid nymphs often trail waxy filaments, though adults lose most of this waxy coating. Not assessed for conservation status.
