About the Prolepta Lanternfly

A smaller, slender-bodied lantern bug in a genus with far fewer described species than the showier Pyrops, found across both Borneo and Sumatra in lowland and hill forest.

Less brightly coloured than many of its relatives, relying more heavily on camouflage against bark than on bold patterning, and correspondingly easy to overlook on a night walk.
