About the Intricate Lanternfly
Named for the fine, complex wing patterning that separates it from plainer relatives, and recorded across all three Malaysian and Indonesian portions of Borneo, making it one of the more widely distributed Pyrops on the island.
Found on tree trunks in lowland forest, using the same still, cryptic strategy as other lantern bugs to avoid predators, taking flight in short bursts only when directly disturbed.
Not assessed for conservation status.
