A torrent frog in the Bornean-centred genus Meristogenys, whose tadpoles have large sucker-like oral discs for clinging to rocks in fast currents, one of the genus's several remarkable stream adaptations.
Found on rocks and boulders within or beside fast-flowing hill streams, well camouflaged against wet stone; Meristogenys species are notoriously difficult to separate from one another in the field.
