A sticky frog first described from the Bario highlands of interior Sarawak, sharing the burrowing habits and defensive sticky skin secretion typical of the genus Kalophrynus.

Found in leaf litter at higher elevation than most Bornean sticky frogs, feeding on ants and termites, and best separated from close relatives by call.
