A distinctive Bornean mountain endemic, dark olive with a bare blackish eye patch, found at the highest elevations including near the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
Bold and inquisitive around people, it forages actively for nectar, insects and small fruit in stunted montane forest and summit scrub.
