One of the rarest and least-known snakes in the world — the sole Bornean member of its own family, Xenophidiidae, known from only a handful of specimens ever collected.

So poorly documented that even basic biology remains largely unrecorded; presumed to be a burrowing, soil-dwelling species like its closest relatives.
