A burrowing snake with smooth, highly polished scales that produce a striking iridescent rainbow sheen in direct sunlight — one of the most visually striking non-venomous snakes in Borneo when seen well.
Spends most of its time underground or in leaf litter, feeding on small vertebrates, and is generally encountered only when soil or litter is disturbed.
