A richly coloured treeshrew with warm reddish-brown fur, giving rise to its common name, found in lowland forest across Borneo and a scatter of small islands in the South China Sea.
Diurnal, foraging on the ground and in low vegetation for insects and fruit, broadly similar in habits to Borneo's other small forest-floor treeshrews.
