A high-elevation treeshrew found on Borneo's mountains, including Kinabalu, where it is often the only treeshrew species present and can become noticeably tame around park lodges and picnic sites.
Diurnal and largely terrestrial, foraging in cool montane forest for insects and fruit. Its restriction to cooler, higher ground sets it apart from Borneo's mostly lowland Tupaia species.
