Sabah Partridge

A Bornean-endemic forest partridge, split relatively recently from the wider chestnut-necklaced partridge complex on the basis of voice and plumage differences, and known mainly from Sabah's hill and lowland forests.

Shy and rarely seen, moving through dense undergrowth in pairs or small groups and foraging for seeds and invertebrates; most often detected by call rather than sight, like its close relatives.
