A slender orange-billed crested tern, smaller and more lightly built than the Greater Crested Tern, occurring around Bornean coasts as an uncommon non-breeding visitor.
Feeds by plunge-diving for fish, often in the company of Greater Crested Terns, and typically roosts on sandbars and beaches alongside other seabirds.
