Very similar to the Red-flanked Bluetail, with a blue tail and rump, orange flanks and olive-brown back, formerly considered the same species.
An accidental visitor to Borneo far south of its normal Himalayan and Central Asian winter range, occurring singly in shaded forest understorey when recorded.
