A slim, dark cuckoo that closely mimics the appearance of a drongo, with glossy black plumage and a squared-off tail, thought to reduce mobbing by host species it parasitises.
Feeds on insects in the canopy, and its cuckoo identity is often given away by a distinctive whistled call quite unlike any true drongo.
