A small, plain brownish squirrel with relatively little distinguishing patterning, most reliably identified by range, habitat and size rather than bold field marks.
Diurnal and mainly arboreal in lowland and hill forest, foraging on fruit, seeds and bark. Not a species most visitors will confidently identify without a guide's help, given its resemblance to several similarly plain Sundasciurus squirrels.
