Named for its long, coarse, horse-tail-like tail, this medium-sized squirrel is found in lowland and hill forest, generally lower in the canopy and closer to the ground than many other tree squirrels.
Diurnal, foraging on fruit, seeds and bark. Sometimes seen moving along fallen logs and low branches rather than staying strictly high in the canopy.
