A piratical seabird known for harassing terns and gulls mid-air to force them to disgorge their catch, classed as rare/accidental in Borneo where it appears only as an occasional storm-driven or passage record.
Occurs in both pale and dark colour morphs, agile and hawk-like in flight, and most likely to be glimpsed well offshore rather than from the coast itself.
