The slightest and most falcon-like of the skuas, with elongated central tail feathers, seen only very rarely in Bornean waters as a passage migrant far from its Arctic breeding grounds.
Chases terns and smaller seabirds for food at sea during migration, otherwise feeding on lemmings and insects on the tundra, and almost never recorded close to shore in the region.
