Crested Partridge

A small, plump partridge with a distinctive upright red crest of feathers on the crown, males showing a striking combination of black, green and chestnut plumage against a bright red face and legs.

Forages on the forest floor in pairs or small groups for fallen fruit, seeds and invertebrates, generally more often heard (a soft, low whistling call) than seen in dense undergrowth.
