An unusual squirrel with an elongated, pointed, shrew-like snout quite different from the blunt face of typical tree squirrels, reflecting a diet weighted more heavily toward invertebrates than most Bornean squirrels.
Forages on and near the forest floor, using its long nose to probe leaf litter for insects alongside fruit and seeds. An interesting, somewhat atypical squirrel to point out if encountered.
