A slender, agile rat with a tail longer than its body, introduced to Borneo alongside human settlement and now found widely around villages, plantations and forest edges rather than deep primary forest.
Nocturnal and highly adaptable, foraging on fruit, seeds, grain and human food waste. Most likely to be encountered around accommodation rather than on forest trails.
