A Bornean-endemic montane barbet with a golden-yellow nape patch and mostly green plumage, restricted to hill and montane forest including around Kinabalu Park.
Feeds on fruit in the canopy, and its repeated, far-carrying call is a familiar sound of montane forest at Kinabalu and other highland sites.
