A dark, dull-brown ibis with a bare bluish-grey head, a pale nape patch and a whitish shoulder band visible in flight, favouring quiet river margins and wet clearings.
One of the world's rarest ibises and Critically Endangered, with Borneo's Kinabatangan floodplain holding one of the last strongholds for this severely declined species.
