A montane pit viper endemic to northern Borneo, found in submontane and montane forest roughly 1,000–1,600m above sea level — a higher-elevation counterpart to the lowland green pit vipers. Uniform green above with no crossbanding, distinguishing it from the more boldly patterned Keeled Pit-viper.
An ambush predator relying on heat-sensing pits to detect prey after dark. Venomous and medically significant like other regional pit vipers — a genuinely exciting find on a highland night walk, but always view from a safe distance.
