An all-black corvid with a long tail, a shaggy crest and a pale blue-grey bill, often detected first by its loud, harsh calls echoing through the forest canopy.
Moves in noisy family parties through the mid- and upper-storey, taking insects, small vertebrates and fruit, and remains a widespread if often overlooked resident of Bornean lowland forest.
