Crested Jayshrike

A striking black-and-white corvid with a shaggy forward-curling crest and a stout bill, classed as Near-threatened owing to its dependence on undisturbed lowland and hill forest.

Forages in the understorey and mid-storey for insects, small vertebrates and fruit, usually in pairs or small family groups, and its decline tracks the loss of primary forest across its range.
