A plain brown, unstreaked warbler with a strong pale supercilium, a winter visitor to Borneo that favours low scrub, ditches and reedy edges.
Skulking and terrestrial in habits, it forages near the ground and gives a hard, distinctive 'tack' call that is often the best clue to its presence.
