A bush frog with irregular, warty skin texture that provides excellent camouflage against moss-covered branches and trunks in hill and montane forest — the feature behind its common name.
Like other Philautus, skips the free-swimming tadpole stage entirely, laying eggs in damp vegetation that hatch directly into froglets. Found clinging to mossy vegetation at night, calling from low perches.
