A long-necked, small-headed raptor with variable plumage from pale to dark morphs, best identified in flight by its narrow head and rounded wings.
Specialises in raiding wasp and bee nests, digging out larvae and comb with dense feathering protecting its face, and migrates through Borneo in large numbers on passage from mainland Asia.
