A vividly coloured canopy bird, males bright red-and-black, females yellow-and-grey, often moving in small, active flocks through the treetops.
Feeds on insects gleaned from foliage in the upper canopy, constantly on the move, and its bright colours make it one of the more eye-catching canopy birds when a flock passes overhead.
