An unmistakable introduced finch with soft grey plumage, a black head and a large coral-pink bill, established in Borneo through the cage-bird trade rather than natural range expansion.
Now Endangered in its native Java and Bali due to trapping pressure, though feral populations persist in some introduced areas, often around towns, gardens and grain stores.
