A bright yellow oriole with a contrasting black hood and black-and-yellow wings, well known for its rich, fluty whistles delivered from tall trees in open country and gardens.
Feeds mainly on fruit and nectar with some insects, and adapts readily to cultivated and semi-urban landscapes as well as natural woodland edge.
