A Myotis species named after the Gomantong Caves in Sabah, where it was first described, and known only from a small number of Bornean cave systems.
Roosts in caves by day, sharing them with many other bat species, and hunts flying insects over surrounding forest at night. One of the more recently recognised additions to Borneo's already large bat fauna.
