A distinctive rufous-orange flycatcher with a grey head and warm cinnamon underparts, brighter and more colourful than most other migrant Muscicapa flycatchers.
A scarce winter visitor to Borneo's hill and montane forests, typically foraging quietly in the understorey and mid-storey and less conspicuous than its bright plumage might suggest.
