A plain, greyish-brown migratory flycatcher with a pale eye-ring and streaked breast, one of the more familiar non-breeding visitors to Borneo from further north in Asia.
Hunts flying insects from an exposed perch in an upright stance, sallying out and returning to the same spot, and can turn up in forest edge, gardens and open woodland during the northern winter.
