Bornean Yellow Muntjac

A Bornean-endemic muntjac, smaller and paler than the red muntjac, with a yellowish-brown coat. Occupies similar lowland and hill forest habitat to its more widespread relative, and the two can be difficult to separate in brief sightings.

Ecology is presumed broadly similar to the red muntjac — solitary, browsing on fallen fruit and vegetation — though it is less studied and generally considered scarcer within its range.
