A free-tailed bat with narrow, fast-flight-adapted wings and a tail projecting free of the tail membrane, typical of its family. Roosts in caves, hollow trees and buildings.
A strong, high-flying insectivore, foraging well above the canopy at dusk rather than in cluttered forest interior where its narrow wings are less manoeuvrable.
