A small, little-known Megaerops fruit bat, named for the Thai mammalogist Petch Ratanaworabhan, and closely related to the black-capped and tailless fruit bats found alongside it in Sundaic forest.
Nocturnal, roosting in dense foliage of the forest interior and feeding on small, soft fruit; recorded infrequently and easily overlooked among Borneo's more common small fruit bats.
